[The post below is from Stewart Lowndes , who sent
this by me, unsure if this was "on-topic" enough for online-news. I think
it's a great example of a seasoned traditional journalist experimenting
with e-mail publishing, free of corporate media. Comments should be
directed to Stu, not me. --Steve]

HOWARD GALGANOV SPARKS MILITANT ANGLO MOVEMENT
MONTREAL (QL) --- "Are you one of us?" he said.
"Maybe," I replied. "You called me, remember?"
They were young, restless, drinking draft from a pitcher in a Guy Street
bistro a few hours before the country band started to play. But these
guys weren't here to listen to the music.
"Do you know him? he asked, looking in the direction of the
barrel-chested gorilla with arms the size of watermelons and hair as
black as coal dust.
"No," I replied. The chisled face did look familiar but I couldn't
remember, maybe Indian, perhaps Mohawk.
"He knows you," he grunted. "It really doesn't matter, anyway."
That's how the Friday evening started, slow and uneasy, like walking in
the gutter of the Mercier Bridge until the booze started to work and we
started to feel comfortable.
"Why me," I asked.
"Simple," he said. "You're the only reporter we know who warned us that
this would happen. Last year, before the referendum, we thought you were
a redneck, a hothead, a real shit-disturber."
"Now?"
"Welcome," he said, "to the Wolfe Brigade."
