No real surprises here. The survey confirms that those reading and
participating in online-news are a professional bunch who are working in
new media fields. Newspaper folks make up the largest group, and there are
a lot of writers lurking on this list, presumably picking up story ideas.
I received only one response from someone who does not work in the field
but is just interested in the topic.

The list is heavily weighted with U.S. subscribers, but nevertheless this
is an international list. My hope is that we pick up more non-U.S.
participants in the future.

I conducted this little survey in order to get a better idea of who
subscribes to online-news. This data will be useful in convincing potential
sponsors for online-news of the value of sponsorship. As I mentioned last
week, my current sponsors (Netscape and the Christian Science Monitor) are
close to the end of their placements, so I'm looking for another sponsor
or two to take their places. Please contact me if your company is interested
in supporting this valuable interactive publishing resource/community.

Thanks! to all those who filled out my survey.
