This is yet another attempt by "King William V" (Bill Clinton)

We have seen so many revokes of the constitution and the Bill of Rights,
it's beginning to look like the Soviet Union won the Cold War after all.
Industrious and Successful men are being deprived of life, liberty, and
property without due process of Law. McCarthy had his "commies", Bill
Clinton has his "Dead-Beat Dads" and "Welfare-Moms". Prisons have become
a booming industry, the right to privacy is seen as a hinderance to his
war on terrorists, drug dealers, pornographers, dead-beat-dads, and tax
evaders.

We now see honest, hard working, responsible citizens being forced to turn
over 80% of their income because they were foolish enough to go to
college, pay their bills, work hard, take risks, invest in businesses,
train themselves, take on responsibilities in their jobs, innovate,
invent, and contribute to the economy, and commit the unspeakable crimes
of falling in love, getting married, and having children.

We have seen this administration thwart the commercialization of the
internet by forbidding the use of encryption, we have seen it arrest the
founders and major stake-holders for charges ranging from use of
encryption to copyright to censorship. It's O.K. for the administration
to slap a reporter in irons for protecting the sources of people falsely
charged with child abuse, they confiscate the equipment of ISPs who carry
alt.sex.* groups, and prosecute prodigy for refusing to accept the
postings of a discruntaled participant who threatened other users. He
then offers "Carte Blanche" to Microsoft, including ignoring "snitchware"
that fundamentally invades privacy and make the most privelidged
information available to the highest bidder.

I hate to say it, but it seems like someone the ACLU has fallen asleep for
the last 4 years. The Clinton Administration actively engages in revoking
constitutional rights an average of 3 times/week (based on base news
stories). A good journalist, exploring usenet archives would probably see
that number exceeding 300 violations/day.

The entire bill of rights is designed to protect individuals and
minorities from persecution by the majority. It protects the individual
from "Mob Rule" and "Lynch Mobs".

The only thing that concerns me more than an administraton that has
contempt for the constitution is influential people who have that type of
contempt. The ones who want to kill the lawyers, imprison judges, and
force the population to live "Morally Well".
