I am somewhat troubled about the direction of this list. For a long
while, this list engaged in the discussion about online newspapers that
allowed informed opinion and reflection. I cannot begin to say how much
I have learned from the people assembled here. The list is not nasty,
and it still is not. Nevertheless, there is a growing tendency to
become like a number of other lists, where people simply talk rather
than reflect and listen.

Point No. 1: Cornelia Grumman is an excellent reporter. (IMHO, Ms.
Grumman did not bury the lede).

Point No. 2: Others on this list provided incorrect information about
the Dole Web site because they did not listen to what the candidate
said.

Point No. 3: Let us talk about the survey the NAA is doing and other
topics rather than what lede is buried where. I have sent the NAA my
recommendations on the study. As usual, Eric Meyer and I see things
differently, but it is collegial. He's wrong. I'm right. Seriously,
this list allows people to discuss issues without the venom on other
lists.

Point No. 4: I would like to thank everyone on this list for his or her
assistance with articles I have written about personalized news services
and the dark side of the Web.

The professor preaches here: this list is a terrific one. Let's keep
it that way. And, I will not waste any more bandwidth as has been my
custom. Cheers.
